Summary:
This estate planning package is for single, non-married individuals that want to ensure their estate plans are properly set up to ensure the right people make decisions on their behalf in case one of life’s unexpected and unfortunate events arises. This package deal includes a Trust, which will allow you selectively choose who will inherit your assets (i.e. family and/or friends), as well as ensure that you receive the proper healthcare treatment you desire in the event you become incapacitated. It will also allow you to elect which individual(s) you wish to make decisions on your behalf, relating to your financial assets and medical treatment, in the event you are deemed incompetent to do so by a medical professional.
Thus, a Revocable Living Trust provides you and all of your life’s work with a high degree of protection in the event you become unable to protect it yourself. It also provides immense savings because it bypasses the probate process, which is costly and time consuming.
What’s Included:
This purchase is a package deal that, in addition to a Revocable Living Trust, includes the following for both you and your partner/spouse: a (1) pour-over will; (2) Advance Healthcare Directives for medical decisions; and (3) Springing Power of Attorney’s for financial decisions.
A pour-over will ensures that whatever assets are not transferred to your trust (i.e. assets you acquire later in life after your trust is established and funded) will automatically be transferred to your trust through your will; however, there is a fixed/limited dollar amount that a pour-over will can transfer. An Advance Healthcare Directive allows you to set out specific instructions for your healthcare treatment in the event you become incapacitated, as well as name an agent to make such healthcare decisions on your behalf and in accordance with your preset instructions. Lastly, a Springing Power of Attorney is essentially the same thing as an Advance Healthcare Directive, only it applies to financial matters instead of medical treatment matters.
